The Drowsy Chaperone
About the Studio Series...The Studio Series provides performance opportunities that are generally targeted towards specific age groups. Studio Series productions may contain a limited number of roles. As such, not everyone may be cast. Smaller cast sizes allow for an experience that places a particular focus on developing participants' skills and abilities in greater depth as well-rounded performers and storytellers. With a stronger focus towards artistry and storytelling, the production designs and performance venues of these productions will vary to allow for flexible staging, creative concepts, and audience experiences.
Our Creative Team members bring with them substantial experiences in educational and professional theatre that have made them masters of their respective creative disciplines. These Teacher-Artists are adept at designing and facilitating a nurturing, yet rigorous experience to challenge performers to achieve their personal best. Our goal is to create an environment where each individual feels safe to learn, grow, risk and have fun while engaging with this art form in meaningful ways that elevate their understanding of the craft, themselves and others as people and artists, and the world around them.

Vocal Audition Information
- Please prepare 45-60 seconds of an uptempo musical theater song (approx 1 verse and 1 chorus if applicable) in the key in which you wish to sing. Do not prepare a ballad as your audition song.
- Prior to auditions, please submit an instrumental track of your song of choice. A Dropbox link will be emailed to all participants to upload to. If you are able to edit your own track down to the cut you will be singing, please do. If not, simply upload the full track and make a note of your preferred start and end times. Please title your track with your name and the name of the song, for example "John Doe- I Love Betsy". You can write down the time stamps for your track when you sign in, if it is not already edited.
- Choose an uptempo musical theater song that will best represent your storytelling, vocal ability, and heartfelt expression.
- Singing songs from heavily stylized pop or rock musicals (such as Rent, Spring Awakening, Be More Chill, etc.) is generally discouraged, BUT at the end of the day if you feel it best shows off you, then do what you feel is best.
- Pick a song and style that will best showcase YOUR voice. We want to hear you at your most confident. Play to your strengths!
- Character Breakdown
- Please bring or wear appropriate attire to move comfortably and closed toed shoes! You will have time to change if you would like separate outfits for dance and vocals.
- Choreography will be taught at auditions and students will present in small groups after about 30-45 mins of learning the choreography.
