ENCORE is thrilled to announce that H2RT is now ENCORE's Spotlight Academy! Bringing the best of H2RT and marrying it to the best of ENCORE's performing arts programs, the new Spotlight Academy has a wealth of programs to choose from.
Academics+ - Previously the core of H2RT, our Academics+ program is the perfect marriage of afterschool academic support and arts training. Operating Monday through Thursday, world-class teachers and tutors support the homework needs of students grades 4 through 12. After an hour of academic focus, students will receive arts training in dance, auditions, digital arts and so much more. Choose the days that work for you! New Musical Theater Performance Workshops - ENCORE is bringing the best of summer camp to the school year! Starting in September, students of all ages will have the opportunity to dive deeper into characters, songs and scenes from your favorite musicals! Whether it is "Hard-Knock Life" from Annie or "America" from West Side Story, students will get bigger opportunities to learn and shine. Play Performance Workshops - Did you miss our one-acts last spring? Well, you won't want to miss this! The Princess Bride is coming! Directed by Daniel Nakawatase, scenes from a play version of The Princess Bride allows students to explore character development and hone their acting chops! |

Meet our Staff
Paul Nitake, Tutor
We are so excited that Paul has joined our ENCORE family! Paul is a math and science teacher currently teaching at Torrance High School. He has been extremely active in promoting the success of students in math and science at all levels, including implementing college and career readiness programs and starting free lunchtime tutoring programs at the school. When not doing math and science, Paul loves to be involved with students. From coaching basketball to sponsoring clubs such as the Hip-Hop Dance Club and Martial Arts Club, Paul is “all-in”. He even took a turn on the Torrance High stage as Coach Bolton in High School Musical. For Spotlight Academy, Paul leads our homework help program and is currently also teaching a class in movie making. Come check him out!
