Please read the whole email, we know it's REALLY long, but there is a lot of important information that you need to know including, mandatory meeting on July 22, signing up for your volunteer commitment, tech meals, costume information, DVDs, scheduling for tech week, requested donations, and what to bring with you each day to tech week.

First, we have a MANDATORY meeting at 4pm on Monday July 22 for the entire cast and at least one parent (or responsible stand-in) of everyone under the age of 18. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ **************** Don't Forget to Sign Up Now************** CAST Volunteer Commitments: Remember EVERY SINGLE cast member/family is required to participate in "Strike" on Sunday, June 30. (for 2 hours after the show ends) That means you need to tell all your family and friends that you will join them for a celebration meal at around 7:00 on Sunday, but not before.
In addition, EVERY SINGLE cast member member must choose to participate in EITHER: All of Load in on Sun July 21 (10a - 2p ) @Warner Grand 28
OR
All of load out (2-4 hours after strike, including coming back to the shop to unload the truck on Sunday July 28 @ Warner Grand and ENCORE.)
This is NOT negotiable.
Outside of the above, each FAMILY is required provide someone to do at least 2 "jobs" during Tech/Show. Families with children under age 12 MUST do at least ONE of those jobs supervising in the dressing rooms.

Tech meals were created to provide the cast with a decent meal during the long rehearsal evenings. Volunteers as well as cast can sign up for meals.
Typical meals are anywhere from pizza, veggies/fruit, and water to a Rascals/Maui Chicken kind of night with rice, meat, veggies/fruit, and other sides, to a mexican night with tacos/burritos beans and rice salad and other small sides.
Please note that even if you are purchasing a tech meal still pack snacks and lots of extra water --it is a very long night.
Meals are typically served between 6 and 7:30p.
If you would like to sign up for Tech Meals, please click here and send us an email saying you want Tech Meals. We will charge your card on file the $54 per person.

We will ask volunteers to help serve the food so you won't be alone. Please let us know if you are willing to help. Below are all of the details for the performance this Saturday! Thank you all for filling out the survey so far, if you haven't done so yet, here it is to please fill out.
When : Arrive at 11am, Perform at 12pm, released at approx 12:30 ( for Annie orphans please head straight to rehearsal at Encore, we understand you will be a few minutes late) Where : Torrance Cultural Arts Center3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance, CA 90503 Meet at 11am at the cast entrance in the Japanese Garden, ( north side of theatre, south side of garden), performing on the Armstrong Stage. Parking: Parking will be crowded please plan for enough time to find it and walk in. Bring: Water, and/or find the greenroom for refreshments Why: Its a fun chance to perform and a great chance to promote the show and fill up the house! We will have postcards for you to handout after the performance. Hi All,
After working with our costumes department, the fitting schedule attached below reflects the updated needs of our costumers. Some have already been seen for some fittings and thus the appointments will likely be shorter than the first fitting.
We will also have our costumers at ANNIE rehearsal this coming Saturday. If you are on these lists for July 2nd and you are planning to be here on Saturday June 22nd please let us know and we can adjust accordingly to get fittings done as early as possible.
We are doing our best to keep you around your rehearsal schedule. the fittings will be in 20-minute increments and if you are scheduled for a time during your rehearsal period, please make sure to check in with either the Director, Assistant Director, Stage Manager, or Rehearsal attendant before you go into your fitting with Tamara.
Once you have checked your time and you know that will work for you, please respond "confirmed" to this email. If you are scheduled for a time that you are not available for because you will not be at that rehearsal, please let us know and we will let you know what other days and times are available to you.

Thanks so much to those in the Jr. Cast who have been waiting patiently to hear when you are performing. We have scheduled the performance for Friday, July 28th at 5:00pm, right before opening night. The show will only be about an hour long. Tickets will be available by donation at the door. You still are required to sell your 20 tickets to the regular show, but you can tell your friend and family, "Buy a ticket to any regular performance and get admission to the Jr. Cast show for free!"

Headshots will be taken during rehearsal this Thursday, June 13th. Please arrive dressed in what you wish to be photographed in. You will need to stay a little bit after or come a bit earlier than you are called for rehearsal because you cannot leave your rehearsal to have your photo taken. PLEASE do not leave until your picture has been taken. (We will have a make up day for those who have a previously-scheduled conflict this week). If you miss headshots, you will not have a photo posted in the lobby. We cannot arrange for individual headshot appointments.

Concessions Manager: We know we all get hungry while watching a show, and therefore we are looking for some parents to help manage our concessions stands! The job would be to shop for items for the concessions, keep everything stocked throughout the weekend, and oversee sales during the shows. This job can still be done if you plan on watching all of the performances.

Dear Sound of Music Cast & Families:
Please note some schedule changes and additions below! We have given you the intended schedule for the next 5 weeks, but please be aware that things may change as we re-assess the needs of the show as we progress.
Thank you so much to all who helped with our very successful Spaghetti Dinner, either by attending, helping set up / tear down, serving food, bringing desserts or all of the above! It was so much fun, and once again we were completely SOLD OUT! You all did an amazing job and created a lot of buzz about ENCORE in general and our upcoming shows and programs in particular!
Volunteering requirements: It's time to sign up for your requiredTech Week commitments. Remember that every single cast member is required to provide someone to EITHER assist with Load-in OR Load Out, PLUS sign up for a minimum of 2 Tech Week jobs (or 3 if you did not do a Pre-tech job). Families with children age 12 and under are required to do at least one of those jobs as a "Wrangler." We have made it easy for you to sign up for everything here.
We also need some volunteers to take on a couple of big jobs for our show. These are not listed on our Volunteer page at Signup.com. These jobs would count as your entire volunteer commitment and no further volunteering would be required.
Tech Meal Coordinator: We want to be able to offer meals to the cast & crew during Tech Week but we can only do so if we have a couple of brave parents who are willing to take on the task of coordinating them. The job entails ordering the food and arranging pickup/delivery, shopping for the "extras" (fruit, salad, water, etc) and setting up/tearing down each day. We will ask volunteers to help serve the food so you won't be alone. Please let us know if you are willing to help. It would be great if 2 people could split this job.
Headshot Photographer You do not need to be a pro, but you do have to have some basic editing skills. We just need someone with a decent camera to coordinate taking clear, closeup photos of each cast member during rehearsals, then editing them to ensure they are all the same size/shape and color corrected. We print these photos to post on the wall along with bios in the theatre so people will know who is who, and these make a great keepsake for the cast members. Let us know if you are able to take on this job.

Please remember, EVERYONE performs in every show. If you do not see your name, do not panic, you will be playing the same part in every show.
JR cast We will have many more details for you soon including performance time, confirmed schedule, and how to use your membership tickets for the Jr Performance.
It is time to start booking your tickets!
Please read the entire ticketing document (attached) that details the process, particularly if this is your first first time doing tickets for a mainstage show. If you are still confused after you have read the document and taken a look at the system (accessible here), please send us an email to set up a time to work through the process so we can help you.
Please be aware when you look at the ticketing site that we are HOLDING most of the best seats in the house for YOU, the cast! Consequently if you log in to purchase tickets now it will look as if everything is sold out, and what is available is not the best seats. Now that the performance schedule is released, we will continue to hold them until Friday, 5/24 at 5:00p in order to give you time to contact friends and family to let them know your shows. At that time all seats will be released and you (as well as the public) will have access to begin booking them.
The mandatory minimum tickets charge has been placed on your account now and can be paid anytime. If you wish to upgrade, let us know and we will put that charge on your account as well. Once the charge is paid and you have notified us that it is paid, we will issue your membership and send you a confirmation. Please note you cannot start redeeming your tickets until you have been issued a membership and received a confirmation email.
If not paid before June 21 the card on file will be charged and your Level C membership will be issued at that time
If you want to be ready to process as soon as the better seats are released, please make sure to process your payment immediately and let us know you have done so -- or send your email requesting an upgraded membership now so we have enough time to get everything to you to begin processing immediately when everything opens up on Friday morning.
Some clarification: Paying for your membership does not force you to immediately pick dates, it just gives you the ability to assign tickets when you are ready and have heard from your patrons.
We understand that the first time you process tickets it can be confusing and we want to help, but there are a lot of you and only a couple of us, so it may take a day or two before we can return your email, so please be patient.
We are SO excited for your friends and family to see this amazing show. We are proud of all the hard work you have put in and we know your friends are going to be blown away!

We are looking for a guitar player who wants to be a part of the show, this can be a cast member or not. Please let us know if you have someone or yourself to recommend who plays guitar and can read music. There are a couple guitar solos in Edelweiss to be played. We are able to offer smaller productions, or have impromptu rehearsals to polish that last dance routine before tech week, and we have our offices right here where we an support the rehearsals.
However, due to our being located in this great, centrally-located area, our rent has gone up 40% (a $29,000 per year increase!) from 2 years ago, and we are now facing the possibility of losing that home, leaving us unable to provide a consistent space for our families and productions.
WE NEED TIME! — We have no way to build a 40% increase into our current revenue stream, so we need to buy some time to find Corporate Sponsors, Private Donors, and Grants that can sustain us moving forward.

We know how patiently you have been waiting for the cast list, and we apologize as we know the waiting is very tough, but we are not ready to release the cast list quite yet. Because we have promoted this show so heavily in an effort to get the number up to a level that will allow us to do the show at all, we are still having people come to audition, and a number of people have had conflicts with the auditions. We need to see more of a few cast members and new people before we can release the cast list. We are also working on casting the junior cast at the same time and it is a time-consuming process we apologize for the delay.
However, we will have our first rehearsal Thursday March 21 @Encore as planned. We will call some people out for auditions as needed, but mainly we will begin working on the main group numbers so that we can get off to a good start.
We will have an exact schedule for Thursday March 21 early next week. The rehearsal will be located at Encore. ( address in the signature below) __________________________

MANDATORY MEETING! Orientation and auditions are THIS Sunday, Feb. 24 at 12p at Warner Grand Theatre 478 W. 6th St, San Pedro CA 90731 Every cast member AND their responsible adult (if participant is under 18), is required to attend the orientation meeting at 12:00pm. ___________________________________________________________
REGISTRATION PACKET AND AUDITION FORMS Attached here (and on the website) is the most recent version of our Registration Packet. We need EVERY family to fill out the audition form, and the absence policy form (3 forms) in the information packet and bring them with you to Orientation.
Before coming to the orientation/auditions, please spend a few minutes with your calendar and completely fill out your conflicts on the Audition form. Every cast member may declare up to 3 conflict dates on their audition form at audition/by audition day. Additional conflicts at a later date are not allowed. We will be taking all of your conflicts into account when creating the rehearsal schedule and it is VERY IMPORTANT that you be honest about your conflicts. We take our conflict policy very seriously, and if we know in advance, we can plan around absences. There's still time to earn FREE TUITION! We need your help building up this cast, and we want to help you, too! If you still want to save some money, take advantage of our Tuition Referral Program! For each NEW FAMILY you refer who registers and pays full tuition, have them let us know that you referred them, and you will receive $75 credit that you can apply to anything on your account. (Or you can choose a FREE Audition Workshop instead!) If you refer 4 new families you receive the equivalent of one FREE TUITION!) Each new family you refer must register and pay IN FULL before you will receive credit. Be sure to tell them to let us know you referred them! We will be having a 2nd round of auditions on Sunday, March 10th, so there is still plenty of time!

CLOSED-TOED shoes!! (NO sandals or flip flops! Jazz shoes are great, tennis shoes will work.)
