Good Afternoon,
1. Lost boys must have their hats tonight
2. Younger children must wear undergarments under their costume -- neutral color tank top/leotard and bike shorts or short shorts -- they must have this to be able to change fast enough to get back on stage.
3. Younger children did not have the proper shoes/tights last night. Your child will not be able to go on stage without them -- check the Encore website under "current casts" for proper information, or email us your questions
4. Make sure your child arrives with their hair and makeup done -- or if it cannot be done coming straight from school etc please make sure you stay long enough to get their hair and makeup done -- there are not enough volunteers backstage to take care of each childs hair and makeup.
5. Please send your children with things to keep them busy/occupied -- coloring books ( no markers), reading, homework, etc

Good Afternoon Peter Pan Cast and Families,
Thank you all for being at the first day of tech, and sticking with us through the parent meeting! We hope you all are beginning to feel the excitement!!
On a tougher note there were several behavior issues with the cast yesterday, (WAY more than we usually see!) and we need you to please have a talk with your child about the importance of their respecting the ENCORE Staff and the Volunteer parents whose job it is to tell them where to go and when to go onstage. This can quickly become a safety issue and our top priority is that no one gets hurt! Those students who do not follow the rules today will be asked to sit down in the audience and will have their parents called.
Second, there was a ton of distraction going on with cell phones yesterday. We have a rule that cell phones are never allowed in rehearsal. This rule will be strictly enforced throughout the rest of the week. Cast members may keep their phones in their bag for emergencies, but all phones must remain turned off. If necessary, messages can be checked during dinner break. If anything arises at home and you need to get in touch with a cast member, please call the ENCORE phone at 310-896-6459 and we will relay a message.
There is a lot of downtime during Tech and Dress rehearsals. Please send your students with alternative activities that can keep them quietly busy; books, coloring books (no markers), cards, homework, etc. There is just too much conversation happening and it makes it hard for those onstage to hear instructions.
Finally, we had some unforeseen challenges getting the set assembled in time yesterday, which put us a bit behind. Therefore, we need to alter the rehearsal schedule for the next two days to catch up and make sure everything is ready for our first show!

Good Afternoon Peter Pan families,
Please read the whole email, we know it's REALLY long, but there is a lot of important information that you need to know including, mandatory meeting on Jan 2, signing up for your volunteer commitment, tech meals, DVDs, scheduling for tech week, requested donations, and what to bring with you each day to tech week.

First, we have a MANDATORY meeting at 2pm on Sunday January 20 for the entire cast and at least one parent (or responsible stand-in) of everyone under the age of 18. If you are not going to be there you MUST designate someone who can take notes AND has the authority to sign you up (and authorize payment) for things! Please don't call the office and ask for a recap. We simply don't have the time to go over it again with each person who can't be there. Thanks for understanding!

CAST Volunteer Commitments: There are 3 listed below.
Remember EVERY SINGLE cast member/family is required to participate in "Strike" on Sunday, Jan. 27th. (for a minimum 1 hour after the show ends) That means you need to tell all your family and friends that you will join them for a celebration meal at around 6:30 on Sunday, but not before.
In addition, EVERY SINGLE cast member must choose to participate in EITHER:
All of Load in on Jan. 20 (9a-4p )
OR
All of load out (2-3 hours after strike on Sunday Jan. 27 AND return to the ENCORE shop to unload the truck)
This is NOT negotiable.
Outside of the above, each FAMILY is required provide someone to do at least 2 "Tech Week jobs" during Tech/Show. Families with children under age 12 MUST do at least ONE of those jobs supervising in the dressing rooms. You can sign up for both your Load IN/OUT job AND your two TECH WEEK jobs here.

There will be flyers to post and postcards to hand out available at the theatre during tech week. Keep posting on your Facebook and Instagram to bring your friends and family to the audience, to see this wonderful, family friendly performance!!

If you would like to sign up for Tech Meals, please click here and send us an email saying you want Tech Meals. We will charge your card on file the $45 per person.
If you are not buying tech meals please make sure you/ your child has food to eat by approx 5:30pm each night of tech week.

Ticketing
We are asking the cast families to not buy and sell tickets to each other because doing so adversely affects our revenue at a time when ENCORE is in serious financial difficulty. Please, if you need more tickets, email the office and request to purchase them at the "Extra Cast Tickets" price. When you email, let know us the date and approximately which seats you want, and we will charge your card on file for the tickets and issue them from here.
After the first day of Tech, the option to purchase extra cast price ticket price goes away. At that time, friends and family would otherwise have to purchase at regular prices, so you are free to purchase any additional tickets cast members have available for sale.
We ask your understanding regarding this policy. In the past, we have allowed, even encouraged families to "help each other" by purchasing extra tickets from each other, but as time has passed, this has caused us to not meet our budget for ticket sales, and we are forced to discontinue allowing it. Again, we are thankful for your understanding and cooperation.

DVDs
We will be having a professional videographer document the show. DVDs are $35 each and take about a month to arrive. Please click here and send us an email saying which performance you would like or if you would not like one. If you have a credit card on file, we will charge it automatically. If not, you MUST bring a check or call the office with a credit card number. NO CASH accepted!

- Tech meals were created to provide the cast with a decent meal during the long rehearsal evenings. Volunteers as well as cast can sign up for meals.
- Typical meals are anywhere from pizza, veggies/fruit, and water to a Rascals/Maui Chicken kind of night with rice, meat, veggies/fruit, and other sides, to a mexican night with tacos/burritos beans and rice salad and other small sides.
- Please note that even if you are purchasing a tech meal still pack snacks and lots of extra water --it is a very long night.
- Meals are typically served between 5:30p and 7:30p.

In this newsletter -- Ticketing Information and the Performance Schedule, Costuming updates/needs, and upcoming rehearsal schedule.

The performance schedule is here!! We know you are all excited to see when you are playing your featured/lead roles and are anxious to start booking your tickets for those performances!
To clarify, EVERYONE performs in every show. The schedule covers roles that are double/triple cast, showing who plays that role for which performance. The general ensemble is not listed because they play the same part for every show.
It is time to start booking your tickets!
Please read the entire ticketing document (attached) that details the process, particularly if this is your first first time doing tickets for a mainstage show. If you have questions after you have read the document and taken a look at the system (accessible here), please send us an email to set up a time to work through the process so we can help you.
Please be aware when you look at the ticketing site that we are HOLDING most of the best seats in the house for YOU, the cast. Now that the performance schedule is released, we will continue to hold them until Friday, 12/28 at 12:00pm in order to give you time to contact friends and family to let them know your shows. At that time all seats will be released and you (as well as the public) will have access to begin booking them.

Costuming -- A couple UPDATES to the costuming document
Lead Indian Dancers - buy your shoes now!! You MUST have these exact moccasins in BROWN. We strongly suggest purchasing them NOW in case you need to exchange sizes. You may want to go in together to save on shipping. Here are 3 options for purchase:

Little Indians:
All girl little Indians need black or brown spandex shorts as well as skin color tights and tan jazz shoes.
Lost boys:
You get to make your own lost boy "animal themed" hat!! You can be as creative as you like or keep it simple it's up to you. Simple options include the typical (purchased) "raccoon tail" or "skunk" hat or you can get creative using things lost boys would have access too -- leaves, sticks, mud, fake fur etc. Please, keep all colors to browns, greens, tan, gray and black. Think forest animals. Some people have taken apart a stuffed animal and used the head as a base with great success.

If you are fitted please confirm with them that you are done and do not need to come back for additional fittings. If you are a parent, please check with your child to see if they were fitted for a costume this evening.
If you or your child were NOT fitted during tonight’s rehearsal there will be opportunities during Friday, December 21 and Saturday, December 22 to come into Encore and quickly be fitted. Do not leave the rehearsal when you are actively working, but you must find a time a little before, a little after or when you are not practicing/ part of the scene being worked on to see the costumer, Amy and/or Tamara.

This is Susan's third Encore production. Some of her favorite past roles include Sally (Charlie Brown) and Orphan (Oliver). Susan sings with the San Pedro Choir and plays on her school soccer team. In her spare time she loves to paint and jump rope. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Sunday, December 2nd, Approx 12-3p in Downtown San PedroWe understand some cast members may have prior commitments, but we are asking everyone to do everything they can to be there!! Participation in this parade is mandatory, we need everybody there to fill up our spot!!!

We are numbers 36 and 37, meeting at approx 19th and Grand. The line up map is now attached as well and a map to show you approx where everything will take place, including PICK UP.

This Sunday, December 2nd, Meet at 12pm
Walking promptly from 1 to 3pm
Parade is scheduled to end at 3pm but we will likely be done earlier so please plan to pick up your performers at 2:00pm
Parking
Parking will be tough in the area with the parade, plan to carpool if possible or allow at least 15 minutes to park and walk to the lineup location.
Wear

Adults please wear pirate attire -- this can be anything pirate-y --- a tie around your head, bandannas, vests etc

It's that joyous time of year - we have had a report of lice from our Peter Pan cast. We understand there have also been outbreaks in several local schools as well, so we are sending this out to everyone in both casts in an effort to prevent them from spreading further.
Here is a very comprehensive article from the CDC that will help explain how to avoid the spread of lice, and what to do if you discover them on yourself, your child or in your home. It covers both over-the-counter treatments and prescription treatments, as well as effective natural remedies.

Congratulations to the cast, and thank you for your patience. The cast list is here. This has been some of the most difficult casting of all time. There is SO MUCH talent in this group and we wanted to give everyone a chance to shine!
We have chosen to double and even triple cast some parts, and some parts we have not been able to cast yet at all. We know you are anxious to get to the cast list itself, but please do take the time to read the important information at the top of the page regarding double casting, understudies and performance schedules.
*** Please note multiple people have checked this cast list for accuracy and to make sure everyone is listed, but sometimes mistakes happen then!

We have a private Facebook Group specifically for the cast and families of Peter Pan. It's a group for YOU to share photos & videos, arrange carpools, ask questions and just generally bond. ENCORE staff will attempt to monitor it when we can, however, it will not be our primary means of communication and we will not necessarily be available 24 hours a day to answer questions.

We still have room for more cast members in BOTH Mainstage shows, so tell your friends! (We are especially looking for more Munchkins for The Wizard of Oz!) Remember that you will receive a $75 referral credit for any new family you bring to ENCORE, that registers for a show. Even though the cast list is out, the ensemble still has openings and there will be small parts, lines, and moments that will be handed out throughout the show.
Scrooge the Musical starts on Tuesday!
We are offering a $200 discount to anyone who chooses to do both a Mainstage show and Scrooge at the same time, so check it out. Scrooge is a holiday classic based on A Christmas Carol and will be performed in early December. It's directed by Jared Walters and will give lots of opportunities to students ages 5-16! In order to get the discount, you must email the office so we can get you registered! (If you can't do it, remember that the $75 referral credit works for this show as well, so tell your friends!)

If you still want to save some money, take advantage of our Tuition Referral Program! If you refer a NEW FAMILY who registers and pays full tuition, have them let us know that you referred them, and you will receive $75 credit that you can apply to anything on your account. (For 2 new families you receive $150 credit, for three new families you receive $300 credit and for 4 new families you receive the equivalent of one FREE TUITION!) REGISTRATION PACKET AND AUDITION FORMS
Attached here (and on the website) the most recent version of our Registration Packet. We need EVERY family to fill out the audition form, the volunteer form, and the absence policy form (3 forms) in the information packet and bring them with you to Orientation.
Before coming to the orientation/auditions, please spend a few minutes with your calendar and completely fill out your conflicts on the Audition form. Every cast member may declare up to 3 conflict dates on their audition form at audition/by audition day. Additional conflicts at a later date are not allowed. We will be taking all of your conflicts into account when creating the rehearsal schedule and it is VERY IMPORTANT that you be honest about your conflicts. We take our conflict policy very seriously, and if we know in advance, we can plan around absences. However, you may NOT have more than 3 conflicts for ANY reason without prior approval from the director.

There's still time to earn FREE TUITION!
If you still want to save some money, take advantage of our Tuition Referral Program! If you refer a NEW FAMILY who registers and pays full tuition, have them let us know that you referred them, and you will receive $75 credit that you can apply to anything on your account. (For 2 new families you receive $150 credit, for three new families you receive $300 credit and for 4 new families you receive the equivalent of one FREE TUITION!) Each new family you refer must register and pay IN FULL before you will receive credit. Be sure to tell them to let us know you referred them!

BALANCE DUEIf you paid a deposit to enroll in Peter Pan, your balance is due now, if you have a card on file it has already been charged. Please be sure to log on to your family account here and pay your balance if you are not sure you have a card on file. It will make your sign in process on Sunday go MUCH faster!

REGISTRATION PACKET AND AUDITION FORMS
Attached here (and on the website) the most recent version of our Registration Packet. We need EVERY family to fill out the audition form, the volunteer form, and the absence policy form (3 forms) in the information packet and bring them with you to Orientation.
Before coming to the orientation/auditions, please spend a few minutes with your calendar and completely fill out your conflicts on the Audition form. Every cast member may declare up to 3 conflict dates on their audition form at audition/by audition day. Additional conflicts at a later date are not allowed. We will be taking all of your conflicts into account when creating the rehearsal schedule and it is VERY IMPORTANT that you be honest about your conflicts. We take our conflict policy very seriously, and if we know in advance, we can plan around absences. However, you may NOT have more than 3 conflicts for ANY reason without prior approval from the director.

WHAT TO BRING
- A binder in which to put your script
- A PENCIL (NOT a pen) and a highlighter
- A water bottle with plenty of water/ snack if you would like
- Clothing you can move comfortably in (girls, if you wear a dress or skirt, please wear shorts under it.
- CLOSED-TOED shoes!! (NO sandals or flip flops! Jazz shoes are great, tennis shoes will work.)
