Dear Matilda Cast and Families, Most of your costume will be provided, but here are the details for what we need you to bring and/or wear under your costume.
Trunchbull kids : If you have a halloween costume at home that you would like to wear for the show please bring it with you/wear it to rehearsal on Saturday January 4. Cheryl (our costumer) will be there to check costumes at the beginning. Please do not go out to buy one, this is just if you have something at home that is safe to use/you want to use. ( if you have a conflict on January 4, please let us know if you have one or not and if you can send a picture if you have it or description if not.)

Dear Matilda Cast and Families,
Encore is in the process of finding a new home!! While we are so excited to find a new space to continue running our programs in, it is still in the works. Matilda will be located at Valor School in Redondo going forward for Saturday and Tuesday Rehearsals.
Saturday and Tuesday rehearsals going forward will be located at: Valor Christian Academy 525 Earle Ln. Redondo Beach CA 90278
As ENCORE is renting this space we need to be extra respectful, including the use of the rehearsal space itself and parking. This means completely cleaning up after yourself, or encouraging your children to, and helping them when you arrive for pick up. Please only use spaces designated by your Directors and Encore Staff, we do not have full run of the campus.
Please note this means you may not be able to get lost items until the next rehearsal, so please be extra cautious of leaving valuables, and personal items behind.
As the school is located in a residential neighborhood, rehearsals will now end at 8pm. Please be respectful of the residents by keeping noise when you leave to a minimum, and finishing conversations inside the building before departing.
PARKING will only be allowed in the parking lot ( fenced or unfenced). Street parking is only to be utilized on the westside of Earle Ln, the school side, and only for drop off and pick up, please do not park there for longer periods. Please do not park on the eastside of Earle Ln, or on any of the residential streets/cul-de-sacs, or in front of houses. ( Valor has already dealt with many complaints, as renters we need to ensure we do not cause more) **** Please see attached map ****
EATING Please ensure to pack ample snacks and lots of water!! All eating will take place on the blacktop only.

A note from your Director *** The attached schedule is the most updated and only one to look at going forward*** Hello cast!
Here is the updated schedule that takes us through November. Pay close attention to rehearsal on October 26th. There are schedule adjustments for almost everyone, so please use this schedule moving forward.
Take note of the few days when people are called for longer portions of the day. Please come prepared with food and plenty of water on those days.
Everyone is doing fabulous work! There is no official “off book day”, but my expectation is that once we have blocked a scene, you should be pretty close to off book the next time we come back to it. We will begin run throughs in December, so everyone should be off book by then at the latest.

Congratulations to the cast!!! The cast list is attached, and so is the schedule for the next 5 weeks of rehearsal. Everyone showed a great deal of talent at auditions and we cannot wait to work on the show with all of you!!
*** Please note multiple people have checked this cast list for accuracy and to make sure everyone is listed, but sometimes mistakes happen even then! If you see a problem, we apologize, please just let us know and we will get it fixed as soon as possible.
This newsletter has a tremendous amount of information, and we apologize but there is no other way to communicate it! Please read it carefully and save it for future reference! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCHEDULE: The schedule for the next 5 weeks of rehearsal is attached. You will see that this is a very different format from what we have sent before. It lists who is called when, as well as what we will be working on each day.
We will send the following month's schedule by the middle of each month. We will NOT be posting the schedule every week as we have done in the past unless there are changes (which we do not anticipate happening very often). You will be responsible to know this information and keep track of when you are called each week. Print it out and put it someplace safe!
REHEARSCORE: We will be using a resource for this show called RehearScore. It is an app that you can download that will enable you to practice your music (individually or in groups) from home. Clothing you can move comfortably in (girls, if you wear a dress or skirt, please wear shorts under it.
CLOSED-TOED shoes!! (NO sandals or flip flops or cleats or crocs!! Jazz shoes are great, tennis shoes will work.)
