*Age 9-10 - can join the cast by audition only -- if they are not selected to join the cast all deposited funds will be returned. Song Choice: Prepare approximately 30-60 seconds of a musical theatre song that you think represents you well. (Your song may be from before 1967) When choosing your song consider the style of Anastasia – please feel free to do some research on your own/see the link at the bottom of the character list and here are some simple thoughts as well. (A grand, epic feel with lush orchestrations, A heartfelt journey filled with longing and hope, A blend of history and fairytale-like magic, deep themes of identity, family, and destiny, Evokes a sense of wonder and adventure) Song Submission: Upload the backing track file (no vocals) in Canvas* by Wednesday February 5 Audio Track Technical Guidelines: The audition song must be performed to an instrumental or karaoke track with no vocals on it. We would like to hear 30-60 seconds of your song, from the second you start singing, at the audition. Keep in mind to have the music start a few seconds before you start singing, especially if your cut is in the middle of a song. If you are using a Youtube video or an un-cut audio file, please make sure that you know the timestamp where your cut starts and ends so that our team can best assist you during the audition. If you end up choosing to sing the song in its entirety, you will be stopped during your audition. If you have trouble finding a audio track to sing with contact Tess - Anastasia Vocal Director [email protected] *Canvas is an app and software system we use to keep all the information organized and easy to find -- all registered cast members will receive an email invite to join about 5 days before auditions. About the Main Stage Series...
The Main Stage Series is our flagship program where folks of all ages and abilities get to participate in fully produced musical theatre productions in professional venues. Our MainStage casts typically consist of young children, middle and high schoolers, parents, adults with careers unrelated to theatre, and up-and-coming and professional artists. These diverse sets of individuals, from all walks of life and experiences, come together as one community to put on fantastic theatre and build incredible bonds and friendships.
Our Creative Team members bring with them substantial experiences in educational and professional theatre that have made them masters of their respective creative disciplines. These Teacher-Artists are adept at nurturing performers of all skill levels and ages in order to build them up for success in their performance abilities and time on stage. Our goal is to create an environment where each individual feels safe to learn, grow, risk, and have fun while engaging with this art form that teaches empathy, compassion, discipline, confidence, and interpersonal skills.
